Kurt Ellinger
Indianapolis Kurt has worked in the printing industry for his entire career. He earned his bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts Management from Northern Illinois University in 1987 and began working as a Project Manager/Estimator in Chicago. He gained extensive experience in print manufacturing operations, particularly estimating, job planning and scheduling at several commercial printing companies. He has estimated and planned for sheetfed press equipment ranging from 20" to 78" as well as half and full size web presses. Kurt has managed production of a wide range of print projects, including Fortune 500 annual reports. The call to Corporate America brought him to Indianapolis in 1996 where he became the Manufacturing Manager at IDG, publisher of the "Dummies" books, and finally to Graphic Arts Center to serve as the Customer Service/Scheduling Manager. Realizing that Corporate America wasn't all that it was cracked up to be, he partnered with Tim to form Print Resources. In May of 2002, Kurt earned his MBA from Indiana University. Kurt is active in the Printing Institute of Illinois/Indiana, AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Artists) and the Indianapolis Ad Club. He taught Print Estimating at the Printing Institute of Illinois/Indiana for 5 years. He also has performed consulting services in the field of print estimating for companies like Kemper Insurance and FERS, a Graphic Arts consulting company in Chicago. He has presented printing production lectures at Ball State University and Indiana University’s Herron School of Art. |
