Tim Browning
Indianapolis Tim has 20 years of experience in the printing industry. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he started as a manufacturing trainee with R.R. Donnelley and Sons in Crawfordsville, Indiana. This training allowed him to learn the printing business from the ground up. It included assignments in each manufacturing and staff area. He even spent two months as a roll tender on an M-1000 press printing Time-Life and National Geographic books. Subsequent assignments took him to Portland, Seattle and then back to Crawfordsville (yes, it was culture shock) in various management roles. He left Donnelley to join World Color in Kentucky as the Plant Manager of a 1,300-person book manufacturing plant. The free Dr. Seuss books you receive after having a baby, along with Harry Potter books and Reader's Digest condensed books are produced at this plant. While humming the Jim Nabors tune, "Back Home Again in Indiana", he moved to Indiana for the third time to be the General Manager at Graphic Arts Center, a Mail-Well company. Here he had the opportunity to manage both sales and manufacturing aspects of this high quality commercial printing plant. Print Resources was incorporated in the fall of 2000 when Tim and Kurt decided to make a break from corporate life and venture out on their own. |
